of china. joining us in just moments. a daring robbery in belgium as thieves struck part of the world diamond trade. belgian police are searching for eight masked gunmen. they forced their way into the brussels international airport and onto the tarmac and stole 190 packages of diamonds and jams on a plane bound for switzerland. they reportedly both rough and polished. it was extremely well-planned. the operation took just over 10 minutes. the thieves wore police uniforms, carrying submachine guns but no shots fired, no one was injured. the robbers were able to make off with at least $50 million worth of jams. a low-end estimate. dto a significant blow to the diamond district whic district s supposed to be one of europe's most secure safe zones, 2000 surveillance cameras and around-the-clock police throughout the area. best to handle diamonds and jams worth $52 billion accounting for 80% of the world's rough diamond trade, half of the trade and other stones and gems. back to politics. we want to give the government props for his, well, props. there you see him and his supporters. the

reality hits us. we have a job to do. we have to take of the thing that is the most pressing on the front end, and, unfortunately, that's kind of the environment we are living in. and it was a very interesting panel, especially the last one, where i was hearing, there's nothing better than congressional staffers. actually talk to patients are going through the clinic. one of the things that, the reality that we suffer with, unfortunately and this is something we all have to deal with come is just the fiscal reality. as you rightly pointed out, it is right now the debate is about budget and at, people are can't figure out to control costs but also how to find actual savings that are scored by cbo. the congressional budget office gets a bad rap from a lot of people, but i'm a fan to have a very tough job to do. they always come out with answers that doesn't please one side or the other side, but trust me it's a very tough job that they have have had to do, and it's hard to please everyone in a town like washington, d.c. they try to do the best they can. i of fort a lot of respect to them. b

against the united states. heather joins us live with more. >> reporter: good morning to you. these are the startling findings in a new report that has just been released. the 74-page report says 141 major hacking attempts have been traced back to a secret group that is linked back to the china's military. the organizations include energy arrow space companies and also itel communications firm, blueprints and other sensitive documents were stolen from those companies. they say the hacking goes back to 2006. now there is also reportedly a memo from a chinese telecommunications company that admits it provided links for the sole purpose of hacking. the wall street times says they were hacked but china had is s denying the report and denying the alleged fact that it's military has any involvement with the hacking. both democrats and republicans in washington are now demanding more action on this. they say that china's hackers pose a huge national security risk. they say they released the report because it's time to acknowledge the serious threat that is posed by china and to help

deals with the world away from the u.s. military and toward u.s. diplomacy. to upscale our soft power capacity as a country so we have more options beyond just the option of force. this president did a lot to advance that idea simply by putting somebody as high profile as hillary clinton in the job of america's head diplomat. but the overall goal of upscaling state, upscaling diplomacy and development so they are right up there with defense, like she said today, that is widely regarded as a goal that is not yet realized. secretary clinton alluded to that fact today when she said she now plans to become an advocate for that cause from the outside. it is, frankly, easy to imagine that as the core for her return to public life and politics for hillary clinton at some point, but we shall see. the secretary also reflected today on how she is really leaving public life for the first time in a very long time. and she suggested that that might make her a little lonely. >> i am very proud to have been secretary of state. i will miss you. i will probably be dialing ops just to talk. >> dialing
